BPCL surges by 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 2.7%

BPCL share price has Zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 404.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS Index is at 14,353 (Up 2.7%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS Index today are BPCL (up 5.35%) and HPCL (up 5.95%).

Over the last one year, BPCL has moved down from Rs 484 to Rs 404, registering a loss of Rs 80 (down 17.01%)

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS has moved up from 13,913 to 14,353, registering a gain of 440 points (up 2.84%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are SUN PHARMA (up 4.68%), GAIL (up 2.16%) and BHEL (up 1.67%). Other gainers include COAL INDIA (up 1.32%) and ONGC (up 1.28%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SUN PHARMA and ONGC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,666 (up 0.52%). IOC (up 5.84%) and BPCL (up 4.76%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 30,750 to 35,101, registering a gain of 4,351 points (up 14.07%).

BPCL Financial Update...

BPCL net profit grew 94.4% YoY to Rs 21 billion for the quarter ended December 2017, compared to a profit of Rs 23 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 109.5% to Rs 702.0 billion during the period as against Rs 641.0 billion in October-December 2016.

For the year ended March 2017, BPCL reported 110.7% increase in net profit to Rs 85.6 billion compared to net profit of Rs 77.4 billion during FY16.

Revenue of the company grew 111.2% to Rs 2,437 billion during FY17.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 8.2x.
