JSW ENERGY surges by 5%; BSE POWER Index Up 0.8%

JSW ENERGY share price has Zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 77.
Meanwhile, the BSE POWER Index is at 2,134 (Up 0.8%).
Among the top Gainers in the BSE POWER Index today are JSW ENERGY (up 5.05%) and SUZLON ENERGY (up 5.28%).
NHPC LTD (down 0.18%) and CESC LTD (down 0.28%) are among the top losers today.
Over the last one year, JSW ENERGY has moved up from Rs 64 to Rs 77, registering a gain of Rs 14 (up 20.97%)
On the other hand, the BSE POWER has moved down from 2,204 to 2,134, loss of 70 points (down 3.55%) during the last 12 months.
The top gainers among the BSE POWER Index stocks during this same period were KEC INTERNATIONAL (up 48.26%), GMR INFRA (up 20.98%) and JSW ENERGY (up 20.97%).
What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 35,216 (up 0.76%).
The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are SUN PHARMA (up 7.09%), BHEL (up 4.33%) and GAIL (up 4.21%). Other gainers include COAL INDIA (up 3.33%) and MARUTI SUZUKI (up 2.44%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are RELIANCE IND. and SUN PHARMA.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,702 (up 0.84%). SUN PHARMA (up 7.02%) and BPCL (up 5.15%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 30,750 to 35,216, registering a gain of 4,466 points (up 14.44%).
JSW ENERGY Financial Update...
JSW ENERGY net profit declined 901.2% YoY to Rs 5 billion for the quarter ended March 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 506 million a year ago. Net Sales rose 89.1% to Rs 17.8 billion during the period as against Rs 19.9 billion in January-March 2017.
For the year ended March 2017, JSW ENERGY reported 45.7% increase in net profit to Rs 6.2 billion compared to net profit of Rs 13.5 billion during FY16.
Revenue of the company grew 84.1% to Rs 83 billion during FY17.
The current Price to earnings ratio of JSW ENERGY, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 112.0x.
