BSE Sensex Down 2.9%; TATA MOTORS Among the top losers

The BSE Sensex is down at 33,941 (down 2.9%).

Among the top losers in the BSE Sensex today are TATA MOTORS (down 6.3%), AXIS BANK (down 5.0%) and GAIL (down 4.2%). Other losers include BHEL (down 3.6%) and HDFC BANK (down 3.4%).
In the meantime, the NSE Nifty is at 10,424 (down 2.9%).

The top losers in the NSE Nifty include TATA MOTORS (down 6.3%), GRASIM IND. (down 6.0%) and TATA MOTORS DVR (down 5.0%). Other losers include AXIS BANK (down 5.0%) and GAIL (down 4.2%).


Which stocks contributed the most to the BSE Sensex?


Over the last one year, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 28,439 to 33,941, registering a gain of 5,502 points (up 18.6%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks during this same period were RELIANCE IND. (up 71.4%), HIND. UNILEVER (up 54.5%) and TATA STEEL (up 48.1%).What about the other broader BSE Indices?

Over the last 12 months, the BSE 100 index has gained 1,604 points and is now trading at 10,704 (up 17.6%). The top Gainer here is SIEMENS (up 0.4%).

The BSE 500 on the other hand Lost 2,365 points (down 3.1%), and is currently at 14,339.
